The way you love me
every day by saying you do
sending me notes just
to say so
The way you love me
making me laugh a lot
whether I want to
or not
The way you love me
sharing the daily load
as we together
walk this road
The way you love me
more every day
I love that you
love me this way

There but for grace
would I be in your place
your trials to bear
but for grace I would be there
Those who cry
and those who die
moms with children ill
those who’ve lost the will
But for grace it would be me
in places sad to be
the hardships unnumbered
with frailty encumbered
But for grace I am not there
my life beyond compare
pray some of my grace falls to thee
thankful always not to be

So you think you’ve got it bad
believe me there’s always someone worse
just open up your eyes
and listen to this verse
always someone out there
who is suffering more than you
regardless of what you think you know
believe me it is true
someone who is hurting, crying, dying
or wishing that they could
stop thinking just of you
for a moment if you would
see the bigger world
the one where true pain does live
past your own little patch of earth
open up your heart and give

Gone
so completely
like a vapor
as if never here
my heart still remembers
soul that aches for you
memories are all that are left
still remember the pained tears
all the wasted years
no true closure
not completely
Gone

Snow White is the name
my soul is the same
the fairest of them all they say
a queen to be one day
My stepmother is now the queen
oldest hag there’s ever been
thinks she’s the fairest one
trying to make my life be done
Now I don’t know who she thinks she is
but my life is none of her biz
good over evil every time
especially spitting this tight rhyme
My prince will come someday I know
so she needs to stop acting like a ho
back up off me and give me space
old hag has got to know her place

Perhaps I should be sorry
maybe there should be regrets
but I find I can’t seem to be
and regrets are a waste of time
Once the choice was made
needn’t bother to take it back
for it remains in the forever
and there is nothing else
Change a life ruin a life
what difference does it make
nothing to be done about it
once it takes flight
Still not sorry
without even one regret
in that one small instant
the moment that we met

Grass so green like each stem painted
the dirt richly red
lines of chalk white as the snow
and in the air the smell of sunshine
Cloudless sky bluer than the ocean
gently the breeze surrounds
oiled leather mixed with the perfume of doing work
spilling over into me
Popcorn and cotton candy
the smell of the grill
an ice cold beer that melts away
the tastes of the game
Cheers and groans
the battle ensues
as the afternoon drifts
my own piece of heaven

Covered in green this mountain hillside
the dew like diamonds on the grass
sun at almost high noon
and a breeze filled with spring
To the north mountain crags covered in snow still
and to the south the peaceful village stirs
in the east a castle ancient and still standing
to the west an ancient river
No sound besides the cool of the wind
and the birds who come and go
and minutes pass like hours
as the sun sinks ever low
Drinking it in this wine of spring
each drop renews the soul
living in each moment
in this place I’ve never been

No worries or tears
without any pain or troubles
all certainty and happiness
this place I’ve never been
No cares or doubts
without any hurt or sadness
all fulfilled and joyful
this place I’ve never been
No anger or stress
without any conflict or issues
all smiles and relaxation
this place I’ve never been
No storm clouds or gray skies
without any gloom or despair
all sunshine and rainbows
this place I’ve never been

The last time that you were there
it was Spring as it is now
and I was there
watching you slip away
remembering all the past
memories flooding me like a Spring rain
somehow it was only the good things
the last time that you were there
The last time that you were there
tears flowed like a melting river
as if my soul could be washed clean
and I was there
The last time you were there
new life waited to begin
as part of my life ended
and I was there
